Kelford cams grinding off original part number?

So I bought these cams used off of a very polite evo owner. I received them and noticed that the original part number was grinded off both cams. The Kelford part number was etched into the end of one of the cams. (9-177-C)

Maybe some of the guys from Kelford can chime in on this. I feel that these are either the old style cams that could have been machined elsewhere and sold through Kelford, or they are not kelford cams at all.

I have to go to a machine shop tomorrow and make sure these are true 272 cams.

Any thoughts/input are welcome!

Update:

Went by RRE today to pick up a Radiator for my buddy. They checked out my Cams and found out they are customized for a specific lift and duration. there is an 11mm lift on them and from the measurements, its looks like its between a 280 and 288 camshaft.

Not sure if this will be the best option for a daily driven car, but it could work out for the better if I go big turbo. Still looking into why It's labeled 177-C.

did you bother asking the guy that sold them to you? If this are legit why erase the original markings? kind of suspicious.

Yeah, very true. I don't feel someone would go through the trouble of selling used cams that aren't through the company you think they are.

The guy that sold them to me bought the car with these cams already on it. He took them off to sell to me because he was upgrading to 280's. I don't feel he is screwing me at all, but I would like to know from Kelford if they would ever etch their part number into the end of the cam.

I went and got some measurements off the intake cam today to see if I can get the exact cam size. the 252 still needs to be measured by the rocker life to get the exact specs.

Hmm, So this is still a mystery on what cam this actually is. I emailed Kelford USA to see if they might be able to help identify this. Waiting on reply.
