Hi guys..

I am looking to upgrade my 6speed tranny.
Can you confirm me if I can install gears from 5speed evo8?
I am intersting to put 4th gear evo8.
The installation is bolt-on or it needs any moddification to put the gear of evo8?

Any links of threads that anyone did it in the past?
I searched a lot but I didn't found something..

I'm almost certain that there are very few (if any) 5 speed parts that will work in the 6 speed transmission. Email John Shepherd and see what your options are. He might be able to fix up your 6 speed but I'm guessing if you want a tough transmission, you need to swap it for a 5 speed.

He's right. The gear stack in the 5spd is completely different from the 6-spd.

Shep has a new batch of his upgraded gear assemblies for the 6-spd coming in soon. Call him and ask about that.

You CANNOT use any 5 speed gears on a 6 speed. I've asked before, it's not going to happen.

 

And how they did all theese people?

 

These people are using an Evo 9 5-speed transmission and swapping out 3rd and 4th gear for Evo 8 5-speed gears. 5-speed to 5-speed, not 5-speed to 6-speed.

They are talking about the best tranny will be 6tranny with 3-4-5 of evo8 and 1-6 from evo9...
Anyway maybe they are doing modification to fit the gears..

Thanks for the warm welcome, douche bag. I was a member about 4 years ago but sold my last car and didn't log in so my account was deactivated. I may not be an expert but I'm not a dumbass either.

 

No where in that thread did I see they were building a 6 speed. They only discussed changing gears between evo 8 and 9, 5 speed transmissions.

 

The car in that link is a evo 9 gsr. They come with a 5 speed not a 6 speed.

 

The way the shift linkage sits, that's a 5-spd. Not a 6.
