Exclamation Power+drag racing times

Ok, i dynoed my car at 330.3 whp and 362.8 ft lbs. on 23 psi dropping to 20 redline, 55 degrees and sunny awd dynojet.......so i went to the track and was expecting mid to lower 12....is that fesiable??? i ran a 12.7@108.7 and thought i should be a little faster.....and i think i can drive hitting a 1.72 60ft. anyway, was wondering if anyone had any variables on the situaiton or does my power to ET makes scense..... thanks!

There are too many thing that will effect your times like track condition, launch, shift, weather...some tracks is faster than the others. With the mods you have you should be happy with your hp and trap speed. You should be able to see mid MAYBE low 12 in a good day or maybe some race gas. I wouldn't worry about the .3 or so sec in the quater mile. You should be happy of what you already achieved and enjoy the car. Good luck!

I have the same mods except for the FMIC and dynoflash (emanage here) and ran a 12.9@107 last year.

I've been a little surprised at the trap speed to whp that I've seen with the Evos on this board. They do seem slower than what you'd expect. With 330 whp it seems like you should be closer to 110-112 mph. There are lots of LS1 Camaros that run 108-110 mph with around 300-325 rwhp and they are quite a bit heavier than an Evo. My LT1 Camaro trapped at 113 mph on the day after it dynoed 346 rwhp.

Are you losing boost between shifts?

Dump some C16 in and crank your boost up to 22.

i know you have similar hp numbers but remember torque is also equated in to the speed equation/ ET . the V8s have a bigger and broader torque band. also if you notice cars with quick 60 ft times tend to be down on the end trap speed due to better traction. if you look at your time slips some of the better times doesnt always equate to fastest trap speeds. keep up the good work, i still have to hit the speedway to see if I am in the 12s yet. hopefull, sure seems fast as snot.

I doubt I have 330 whp or even close to 360 ft lbs on my car, more like 300 whp and I have been trapping at 108. Maybe your pulling some timing, have a bad tank of gas, could be a lot of variables.

i hit a 110.8 trap speed 2 fridays ago but that was a 13.0 with a 2.0 60ft spinning tires into 2nd gear...so maybe i need Al to give me a retune to se if the FMIC and MBC changed anything, it hasnt been dynoflashed yet with those modds. Ill have to get in touch with Al soon, thanks for the input guys.

I haven't seen anyone state the "what dyno" was used to get those numbers. Don't forget there are some that are more.......flattering than others.

thats correct dyno are good for tuning not telling you have fast your 1/4 mile times are . good time slips equal good HP and traction. work on your 60ft times and less wheel spin if you can. that cost you time , Big TIME.

for grins think of it this way, 1 sec of wheel spin would put you at 12.0 at 110 all other factors being equal. man life looks good all of a sudden.

The MPH seems off to me, especially with the torque numbers. Our car on a 2wd dyno made 343 whp and 300 ft lbs of torque and ran 12.42 at 112 mph on 94 octane. This was with 19-20 psi of boost.
