Timing 2.4 - Stock gears

Just wanted to double check that it was done right...

I have adjustable I might put back in -- but was this done right?

I love when people represent timing a motor based on numbers of teeth. Its so nice.

I thought I was the only one that did it that way.

I have 17 teeth between the marks on mine I believe. Subaru actually has marks on the belt for all the pulleys. So much better. I wish Mitsubishi did that. I may count them out and Mark some belts. It would be 100x's easier.

The timing looks ok. You should use a piston stop for the crank and not the mark. The 2.4 has more dwell time at TDC.

You will need adjustable gears to place the cams back to the marks on the valve cover. Looks like a 1/2 tooth to the right.

you will also find out if its right if you do a compression test. if the timing is off than the compression will be off.
