Evo 9 dying in 5th after WOT pull

So whenever im doing a pull in 5th and i let off and push in the clutch the car dies. Its done that 3 times now. This bugs me because i feel like it could damage the turbo if its in full boost then having the car shut down right after leaving the turbo spinning with no oil running to it. Anyways, what could cause this issue? and after only 3 times is it likely that i could have done damage to the turbo? Thanks

Could be your idle control valve settings. The way I understand it is this valve (and the ecu settings) have taken the place of the vacuum actuated dashpots that used to be used on older cars. If uve never seen one, it basically makes it so the throttle plate doesn't slam shut immediately when you let off the throttle as this could make the engine die. Are ur idle control valve setting stock still? Also...will this happen in any other gear? Does the engine almost die anytime u go from wide open to fully letting off (with the clutch pushed in).

As for damage to the turbo, it's definitely not extending the life of it lol...but I'd think u should be OK as there is a decent amount of oil in the line etc.

Yeah i figured it was something to do with the IACV. and that ive noticed, it only does it in 5th. and yeah hopefully only doing it those few times didnt cause any damage to my turbo.
