Blow off valve leak with boost test?
Blow off valve leak with boost test?
hey, i have an evo 5. While performing a boost leak test, with the air pressure on the turbo inlet from 0 - 15 psi (haven't gone any higher) there is a constant flow of air coming out the stock BOV outlet. is this normal or are the internals of the bov buggered?
i have yet to check the vacuum/pressure line attached to it, as i am still sorting out other boost leaks. if that was leaking pressure could it cause the bov to be constantly leaking?

I have a question, when conducting a boost leak, should the Blow off valve be connected to the intake or should it be disconnected?
And then...there shouldnt be any air pressure coming out of it regardless right???

so ive fixed all the boost leak issues. installed a greddy type s that i got for cheap in really good condition. no hissing anymore, but now a new issue has come up (or maybe it was already there but i couldnt hold boost well enough to feel it). the car has a major (drive train shaking) stutter when i get into the high rpm range, above 5000 rpm. i thought it was just the blow off valve fluttering when at high psi, but i can spool up to 1.5 bar if its gradual with no issues. i screwed the adjustment in tighter for more spring pressure..ive done the single spring mod, at the recommended setting, it would whistle every time i let off the throttle even the slightest bit. any thoughts?
