evo 8 with COP misfiring in cyl 1-4
Check that the wiring for everything is receiving the proper signal. Fuel, Spark, Air.
Air we know works, the other two cylinders are operating fine. Fuel you'll need to check, Spark you'll need to check.
Chances are it's not fuel since it's two cylinders.
Get a multimeter and check continuity from the ECU to the coil packs via the engine wiring harness.

Oh yah if its those outside 2 that aren't firing its gotta be either a problem with the signal from the ecu or the power to those 2 coils. You can check it with a test light. With the engine running unplug one of the coils and find +14 volts with the test light clamp hooked up to ground. Then find the Ground and ignition pulse signal with the test light clamp hooked up to positive. I can provide more details if needed. I can provide more details, (what pin is what when i get home).
Thank you guys. More detail would be great as far as what pins are what.
to check the continuity I am guessing I need to run wires from the different pins on the plugs that go into the injectors into the cabin near the ECU correct? Also My question would be which pins are which also, I have a multimeter, I do not have a test light so i would be looking for voltage, when trying to isolate the positive at the plug end for the injector correct? And then at that point I use that positive point to find ground in the plug and then use ground in the plug to check for voltage in the signal Point in the plug?
fuel injectors are on their way back from being cleaned at fuel injector Clinic and I have a new set of coils ready to go on this Friday or Saturday as well. I know it is a wasted spark system with one and four linked together and two and three linked together.
what is odd to me is that it will run fine for a while and then as the car warms up and I am driving for a bit, then misfire will begin. Problem is it is inconsistent as it does not happen every time I drive the car.
thank you very much for the help guys
