2006 Evo IX Shifter position

Hello everyone I was wondering if you guys can help me out, I did a search on my question but came up dry.

I am in the process of buying a pretty clean EVO IX SE from a private seller. The only 2 mods he has ever put on the car was a short shifter at 6k miles and a ACT clutch kit at 50k. The car now has about 55k miles. When I was test driving the car I noticed the shifter when in neutral sits tilted to the right instead of straight up and centered. Is this normal for a 5speed? I've owned a 2005 MR in the past and I remember the shifter sitting centered. Should this be something I should be worried about?

Thanks for any help!

If it's shifting fine and doesn't flop around during driving then there shouldn't be any concern. GoodLuck!

Maybe take the leather hood off and check if anything is loose. It could just be tilted towards the driver because he liked the positioning.

its actually tilted to the passenger side a bit. for example "|" normal position "/" this position his is at.

It shifts fine, i test drove it for 15 mins around his area. I'm thinking maybe a bad short shifter install.. but its been on the car forever. Any long term effects from that?
