Damaged camshaft repair?

I had a belt snap and resulted in broken rockers that left a few scratches/marks on the lobes of the camshaft.. Is it possible for a machine shop to sand and polish the camshaft? It's a kelford 272 and I highly doubt I'll be able to find a individual exhaust camshaft and a new set is to expensive at this point. I'd rather just throw the stocker back in for the time being. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

gouges and lines in the lobes have no effect on how they operate. roller cam followers have no problem rolling right over them. just polish off the high spots and let em rip.

I'd suggest that you use a micrometer to make sure the cam is within service limit according to the service manual.

If the journal surfaces are undamaged I would suspect that this may not be necessary. Just break out the scotch pads and lube, use some elbow grease and go to town.

A 12pk of beer will help too.
