evo6 boost control mystery

so heres the story when i bought my e6 it had a bunch of useless parts in it (seems to be the curse of the used evo) that ive slowly been replacing with either newer stock pieces from the e8 n e9 anyways it had a gfb electronic boost controller that my tuner removed a few months ago as i had purchased a stock boost solenoid and was waiting for it to arrive in the meantime my tuner just routed a hose from the turbo nipple straight to the wastegate no pill or t just a straight hose. this setup ran fine no problems at all boost would hit 1 bar n taper off at the top all pretty normal. so the other day the boost solenoid came in and i went to install it now heres the mystery that i need help with, i cant seem to find the plug that goes into the solenoid...its gone..nowhere to be found in the engine bay. now i thought that since the gfb boost controller was on there that the original solenoid must have been left plugged in and its hose connections capped but that doesnt seem to be the case whats even stranger is my car has never shown a check engine light which it should have if the stock solenoid had been unplugged or straight missing...right?? does anyone have ne idea where it is or why this is? ive checked the whole engine bay and there are no signs of it. i have the solenoid in there now hooked up with the hoses n pill routed correctly and it drives even better boost builds accordingly and it peaks a little over 1 bar and tapers it definetly drives waay better but the solenoid itself is still not plugged in i just have it mounted where it should by the airbox and no check engine light..nothin..drives great but this mystery is buggin me any thoughts from the forum would be appreciated

The factory boost control solenoid lives under the carbon canister.

Go here as the pic in the post shows it:

Does it look like the loom has been altered, the plug may have been cut off if the plug is indeed missing.
