How bad is the ride from a stock EVO6-GSR?

This is going to be hard to qualify but I think I read that it is much rougher than that of, say, a Subaru Impreza STiV3... which I've been in.

More recently, riding in my friend's new stock E46 M3 I noticed that it is very bumpy and somewhat shockingly so at times.

So how does an E6-GSR compare to this ride-wise? Now before you suggest I get something else if comfort is a big factor (not like I can buy and drive an E6 in Canada anyway), I used to race a hard-tail mountain bike offroad so bumps don't bother me. Just curious how bumpy "bumpy" is.

Cool

Well comfort was never a corner stone of Evos!. I have a TME GSR that has specially tuned suspension for tarmac. On highways the ride is not bad at all.. of course the driver would feel the steering responses more than any other car on an uneven bumpy road (like driving a go-kart). What I've noticed is the faster you drive on a bumpy road the more comfortable u are in an Evo!. If you have the correct tyre pressures the body huggin Recaros try to give you the maximum comfort.

and of course the "bumpy" feel to the ride adds up to the enjoyment if you are a harcore rally fan like myself!!

Hmm.. really?... I think if you feel that the M3 is bumpy than ANY
sports car should be quite bumpy... maybe Merc AMGs would have
suppler ride..

I currently have E36 M3... found the ride to be a bit soft than my liking..
miss my Supra TT...

compared to most cars in the North American continent an E6 is going to feel very hard. I have a TME and agree with the previous poster that the faster you go the better it feels. At about 90 its fine and is relaxing to drive, its a bit crash bang wallop at low speeds and is really not good if yoiu are feeling a bit rough (hungover). Otherwise I like the ride, but then i like alot of feedback.

If the ride is a problem you could always fit adjustable shocks and play with the spring rates to suit your driving stlye/needs and roads.

Haha, that's a great bit of info there mate!

This post was generate by the empathetic, caring, altruistic me for the sake of potential passengers whose needs I typically ignore. Haha, no speakers in the rear you say? "Tough luck"

Just curious what was meant when people say the ride is rough and now that we have some verbage around it, it doesn't sound bad at all. I was almost expecting people to tell me that it's so bumpy you can't read road signs properly at speed.

Yes, the TME ride is very hard compared to many american cars.
I thought my neon sports had a hard ride but it was nothing compared to the Evo6.

You can definitely feel every single bump on the road.
The first time after i drove the car, my back ached the next day.
Used to it now though.

agree, the faster you go, the better the ride gets. The best way to get a more comfortable and faster Evo is to get adjustable single tube racing dampers. That will cure all problems you might have and the ride can be changed completely in about 5 minutes by adjusting the bump and rebound rates. It really isn't that bad. If someone complains in my car, I either ignore them, tell them to shut up or ask if they are a ladyboy....
