It has worked great for me. Most JDM builders using the 16G turbos are using the slightly smaller downpipes for a reason....my two cents.
Does the HKS bolt to the stock cat then? And miss the lower ties bars for an easy install??

I have already added a UR 2.5" cat-back so looking for a downpipe to finish it off. Thanks.

- Espelir JGT500R Cat Back Exhaust
- HKS 2.75 downpipe
- XFlash Re-mapped ECU or Works P2

How much HP/Torque do you think I should get with that...
These things are hard to guess-timate. I'd guess close to 50whp.

New question:
Would adding a downpipe decrease my fuel economy? $2 a gallon is getting pretty steap!

By the way... HKS downpipe is 65mm or 2.55".
Not 2.65" not 2.75" --> 2.55"
Most vendors have posted incorrect info. HKS website says it's 65mm and if you do a search, for the same reason one member has messured the DP and it turned out just like HKS has it on their website -> 65mm.

Yeah, I checked the website. IT SAYS 75mm!

Get the 3" downpipe. Our EVO on the stock turbo made 390 whp and 390 ft lbs of torque. Not torque missing in our car and it ran 11.65 at 117.88 mph.

The only way I wouldn't suggest getting a 3" downpipe is if you aren't going with 3" after the downpipe.

What about those of us already with after-market 2.5" cat-back exhaust???

Then they lie....

I have to second SoR on this. When I received my HKS DP last week, my dad measured it with calipers.
It's 2.55" (OD) from end to end. It's 2.45" ID.

It's still here in the box. I'll go measure it 3 more times, but I don't think it's gonna grow...

As I said in another thread, if you don't care about it being polished, might as well get
the Buschur 2.5" and save some cash.

I found the 2.5" Buschur downpipe pretty cheap on a site the other day. I think $225.

As long as it clears everything w/o removing tie bars, that sounds like a pretty good choice then.

I'm going with 3" all the way back when I get my exhaust done...
