Questions Regarding Blowby, and ECU information
Alright
I have been working this past summer to get a 2 year build to run right. For some reason I can't get passed 15 psi (MBC installed correctly) on a highway pull, or 8 psi in a first gear pull. I have a decent map, but it still leans out and I can't figure out why.
Engine Specs
Stage 2 MAP 2.4 LR
Stage 5 MAP Head S3 cams
6466 V Band
2000 ID
2 Duestch 320 lph pumps
-10 AN feed
-8 Return
E85
I have about 1600 miles on the build, and during the break in I had a decent map AFRs around 16s cruisng 13s idling, but the moment I went into boost it would lean out a misfire under 7 psi.
I have a different map right now and I can hit 15 psi all day, but its really rich like 10s pretty much all the time.
I did a compression test, and to me its kinda low. not in order btw but 125, 140, 140, 140 I think, and the moment I added a teaspoon of oil and the low one shot up to 145, and the rest 155. So I know I have a ring issue, and serious blow by. Is this the reason that I can't get the turbo to spool worth crap? (besides a tune)
Regardless of what to do I have decided I'm going to pull the head off, as that will pretty much tell me whats going on I feel. I know I will need to rering it, but what about honing? If the wall aren't washed, do I have to hone it? Also, do I replace bearings? Or just inspect them and if they are still good, leave them in?
My only issue is I want try a different head gasket, and I'm having some issues finding something for my application. Currently on the car, is a PE 87mm gasket I think, it is what MAP recommended.
IF I PULL THE HEAD, SHOULD I JUST O RING IT? As I would like to run up to 35 40 psi depending on the power, but it I get over 800hp with 35 psi I'll be good with that I guess.
If I oring the head,
Who should I sent it to?
How much to do it?
Copper or stainless wire? ( please explain in depth pros and cons of each)
What gasket would be compatible with an oringed head?
Shoud I get different head studs as well?
Sorry for all the questions, but I have search and I get all weird answers or some people say this some people say that.
One other question regarding the stock ecu with speed density.
My car is not and evo, so I had to rewire the car for and evo 8 ecu. This build is for a galant mind you, but I need to know how much extra stuff the the tehpra mod is looking for. I guess what I'm trying to say is I have all the inputs correct, the car runs and drives pretty good, no check engine lights, but is the tephra mod looking for other signals or power from other areas in the evo schematics, compared to my galant schematics.
Hopefully its the blow by issue that will fix everything.
