Boost gauge reading

Hello everybody. I want to ask about reading boost gauge. At idle, it shows around -17 psi and at boost, it goes up to 8 psi. Does it mean boost is working at 25 psi? Or the 8 psi should be read around 25 psi? If anyone knows, please help about it.

-17 at idle is your vacuum.boost starts from 0 and up. If you hitting 8 psi you have some serious boost leak or something else.

I think there is not boost leak because i would hear the sound if there is, turbo is working fine. Fuel pressure is around 40 psi and it is also normal. What else can be the problem?

You can't diagnose/hear boost leak while driving.you have to do boost leak test.so your max boost is 8 psi ?

Yes but it seems like it is working quite well. Can it be gauge problem? and today i checked the injectors and one of them is not working. They cleaned the injector but it did not work. So i must buy an injector. It is surely related with boost but can it cause that much boost difference?

If there is no fuel then there is nothing to pump that piston.

The turbo is spun by the exhaust gasses created from burning the fuel in each cylinder. If one is not working you lose 25% (give or take) of that exhaust energy... so yea, and as they said fix the fuel first worry about boost after, do a proper boost leak test... Don't blow up your engine...
