Brand new Evo 8 9.8t engine

What're your guys thoughts on doing a build on a brand new engine. Dumb? Pointless?
Keep in mind this is a brand new never been crank over engine.

Debating on whether if I should pull my current motor and build that or build the new one. Pretty sure this is a no brainer answer, but I just want some feedback.

Current motor running strong no issues at 150k with basic bolt ons.

What would you do and why.

If it was me...... I'd put the brand new motor in and build the 150k mile one.

I'd sell the new motor and use the money to build a bad *** 2.4 while the car is running on the stock motor. Then swap them and sell the stock engine for more cash.

^That's a pretty great answer! Probably the best answer you'll get in this thread.

Lol.
I count 3 engines.

Or did did u mean build a 2.4 from the ground up after selling the newly purchase engine while still driving around in current engine.

Damn. This is becoming a riddle.

Note: I have two other vehicles to make my daily commutes.

Sell the new engine. Purchase an engine that needs a rebuild, build that, then swap high mileage running engine out, and sell it..

You could probably build an engine and come out fairly close to even after you sell what you have..

I did mean to buy a 2.4 block on the cheap after you sell that valuable complete long block. You could probably sell for enough to build a complete badass 2.4 no money out of pocket. Then swap it right in and sell the stock motor. A bare block and crank bring 1000 any day. A running engine with a recent compression test before removal would bring more. Then you end up ahead of the game $$ wise and have a built motor!
