evo 6 stock turbo 29psi

After installing a plazmaman spec r kit the other night i forgot to attach the boost solenoid lone to the turbo outet and it hit 29psi and held it all the way to redline. Ive reattached the line and its back to 25psi tapering to 22psi near redline. What in the world happend? How did it make that much boost? And would it make sense to retune it so it holds 25psi all the way to about 7000? Aka redline.

Tapering level seems quite normal, you don't want to exceed your turbo's efficiency.

On 98, you won't make any more 'reliable' and usable power holding more than 22.5-23psi above 7k.
I would keep that boost taper as is if you're on 98.

Which is a better option then for top end on stock internals. An evo 9 turbo or gsc s2 cams?

What are you planning to do with the car ? The car will make power differently depending on the route you choose.

What would be the three scenarios from just the evo 9 turbo. Just the s2 cams or both of them together

S2s are great but with bigger turbos! I'd suggest HKS272 or Kelford 272 or S1's. I wouldn't exceed 22-23psi on stock internals & I'd let taper down to 19-18psi.

top end get the s2 cams, they work great on all turbo sizes not just big turbos as stated above.

thinking of combining the s2 cams with the td05hr-16g6c-10.5t (evo 9 mr) turbo, new clutch and retune. should pull strong and wouldnt be pushing the stock internals as long as the boost pressure is lowered abit?
