ACD leak, unknown bolt

Hello everyone, new to the forums here. I drive a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 MR! I woke up to a nice red puddle in front of my car...turns out my ACD tank was empty. Upon inspecting, I found a missing bolt underneath and I was hoping someone knows the size so I can replace it and fix this issue and get my car back on the road. Here's a pic of the bolt...

After looking online I think its apart of the ACD pump repair service kit and they send some bolts with that, which I think one is one that I need! But I need them immediately, so if someone knows the size that would be greatly appreciated as I am desperate!

Don't mind these pics..hope they help!

Thanks again, any help would be appreciated as I haven't had this car long so I'm still learning a lot about it!

So upon more research I think this is what I need... the ACD pump rebuild kit.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Evo-4-9-AY...3D321444359794

I don't want to buy the whole kit though. I just need that long silver bolt but the dimensions aren't listed anywhere. Looks like I'll be removing the other one to get a match made.

Thank you!!! This has been one tough bolt to figure out and I've had no luck getting it out yet so I'll have to go get one. Thanks again, greatly appreciate it! Now I can get my car fixed and back on the road!

did you buy the car used..?

worse case scenario is that someone wanted to overhaul the pump and broke the bolt off.. they do not usually fall out..

Yea I bought it used last year with about 60k miles on it. And you're exactly right.. I got the bolt you recommended and went to put it in today and found out that the other bolt broke off. That's going to be a fun project. Car is stuck in the garage until this is fixed. Any recommendations on how to fix this? I keep seeing a mention of a ACD pump rebuild kit? Is that what I need?

you can take the pump off and drive it like that, no problem. Just your ACD diff will not lock but if you do not drive on too slippery surface you will not notice (unless you go extremely fast and start sliding around)

in my sig is the video about the overhaul of the pump...

wow thank you that is awesome to know, my car has been sitting for a week because of this. I do want to fix this though, so I'll have to check the video out.

If it's only for a split bolt, can I just pull the assembly off and replace the one bolt? Or will I need any other parts? Hoping the broke one comes out fairly easy...

So does the pump assembly have to be removed to drive the car? I assume so.
Thanks again for the help!

you can drive with the pump on or off the car... but if you want to work on the pump just take the whole assembly off, including the fluid reservar.

Just cover the end of the hydraulic line so that it doesnt get drity..

then, open the pump and clean the insides as per video. Replacement seals are a good idea. The tester I use is not strictly necessary.. you can test it well enough by connecting the pump motor direct to 12V

Okay sounds good!

Thanks for the help and info, going to come in handy for sure! Happy to know I can drive my car without that pump until I fix it.

So as far as the replacement bolt and some seals, I should be good to go. Thanks again I'm eager to get back on the road, appreciate it

I wanted to write... .if you open it, you will probably need the whole overhaul kit as the plate inside the pump corrodes.. Major problem with these pumps is opening them... if you have it open, might as well replace everything inside..

Ok thanks for that info, do you know where I can get this kit? I saw a couple on eBay. I was hoping to get it fast as possible.

My acd pump was locked up when I bought my Evo, I decided to just do away with the acd system all together, I deleted it all and just replaced my t-case with a non acd case. My pump was corroded really bad, questionable if it was going to be able to be rebuilt or not. I was just tired of messing with it, but ya I drove it for a long time without an acd pump even installed, it just acts like a front wheel drive car since there's no hydraulic pressure to the transfer case to lock up the clutch pack and transfer power to the rear.

Dang how much did the non ACD t-case cost you? Looks like I just need a new pump myself seeing as how mine just fell apart while trying to fix it from all the corrosion. I see them used on eBay for about $650. Any ideas where I can get one for cheaper or any other options? Glad to know I can drive without it though
thanks. Because idk how long it'll take to get another.
