EVO 8 -- Max hp and psi ?

Hello,

Just wondering is 26psi safe on stock rods and pistons on a Evo 8 mr, with the following mods?

- 3"TBE
-E85
-Arp head studs
-Cometic head gasket 1.25mm
-CAI

if so what is the threshold of the 4g63 with stock rods and Pistons both in hp and psi, looking to buy cams to reduce torque down low and add up top, any help would be appreciated !

400tq is the safe limit by most people's standards. What's safe on your stock rods is completely dependent on your tune.

How much hp can they take if like you said the tune is spot on, I no the torque is a big reason they can fail that's why I'm trying to push everything up top as close as I can to reduce boost early on plus with the cams it will reduce abit down low, just wondering what should I watch out for more, the hp or the torque when it comes to making power on the stock rods and Pistons.

Torque is what kills engines; engines produce torque not horsepower, horsepower is a function of torque. Make as much hp as you can, just stay below that 400tq threshold if you want to stay reliable on a stock bottom end.

Okay that's what I was looking for I just gotta be careful of the torque, hopefully make a close to 400hp with under 400tq might be bit of a challenge though
