2.0LR Build!!

I need some advice from the expert here.
I try to gather as much information before i kick out with the build.

As current state im running a 2.4LR setup on my Evo as it was a daily driven.
But my car is going thru a process of turn into a full drag evo.

The question is can some of my 2.4LR short block parts tranfer into the 2.0LR build?

Can my 156mm manley tt rod & the 86.5mm stroker piston put into the 4g63 block?
Juz need to purchase a 88mm crank to replace my 100mm crank.

anyone pls enlighten me.

thank u.

Yes that will work on paper, however I would recommend getting the 63 block bored for a fresh set of the smallest over-bore pistons available.

Generally 85.5mm on a fresh block.

you will have an issue with the CR, so you might need to get new pistons anyhow..

for my 2.0 LR I am using 156mm rods and then you need specific 2.0 LR pistons, or use High compression strokker pistons...

I bought 10.5 CR stroker pistons which on a 88mm stroke will go down to about 9.4 CR

Going from 100mm crank with 156mm rods and 10.5cr piston you will be a 9.0cr with 88mm crank and 156mm rod. This is based off of the Manley website.

Since you are in Portland and are so close to English Racing I suggest you have them do your rebuild. I don't think going from 2.4LR to a 2.0LR is quite as straight forward as you think.

If you have a 4g64 block, you will need 162mm rods to work with an 88mm crank and your stroker pistons.

for a 4g63 block, you can use an 88mm crank, and your 156mm rods, but you should get smaller pistons. The 4g63 starts at an 85mm bore, and wiseco makes oversize pistons in .25mm increments. Go with the smallest overbore possible..

those should work, will give you about 9.4 CR...
86 bore is fine.

first, check EXACTLY which pistons and rods you have..

So i just purchase a new 85.5mm bore piston.
Run it with my 88mm crank & the manley tt 156mm rod (that already taken out from my 4g64 block) into the 4g63 block.

I will not run 2.0LR on my current 4g64 block.

yes. You'll still need a "stroker" piston to account for the longer rod. The pin height is the same for an 88mm crank/156mm rod and 100mm crank/150mm rod in the 4g63..

so i will just get the stroker piston from wiseco for the 2.0LR or i can run the 4g64 stroker piston with higher comp ratio in the 2.0LR setting

you cant use "normal" stroker pistons... the CR will be off

What is your target CR?

which stroker pistons do you have from the g64 build?

my target cr to run for this 2.0LR will be 10:5.

currently i run a 87mm wiseco hd on my g64 cr 9:5.
so i will ditch this piston away for a 85.5 10:5cr for the 2.0LR.

is there a vendor selling this piston on the shelves.

CP has the pistons that you need... check their catalogue

for example, SC7241 85.5 mm 10.5 CR for 156 mm rods
