So I replaced my drive belt last week and now notice that it is making a pulley noise when my car is idle. I installed the belt correctly but just don't know why it's making the cranky noise now. anyone have a clue?

 

Can you describe the sound a bit better? Maybe it's a bit off center and is resisting a bit?

 

it's like a squeaking noise, it could be that it is resisting a bit but I'm not sure. This is my first time ever changing the belt myself and I wasn't the one who 'tighten' it back on, although I wouldn't know how tight it should be. The squeaking noise is not really loud but is noticeable.

 

There is a recall for '08 and up for this.

 

Is it more of a squeking noise or scrubbing like noise?
