anyone make their own exhaust manifold?

so i finally bought a tig welder of my own. been using my bosses a lot lately and been getting the technique down pretty well. my question is if anyone on here has tackled this project on their own and what exactly they did to match the ports. i already have tons of 45* and 90*and straight SCH10 304SS 1.5" tubing, although i dont have any oval. the exhaust ports on an evo are oval but im not sure if i should get the vibrant performance oval to round transitions or just crush the one end in a vise to flatten it out a bit. if nobody has tried this themselves, what does it look like ets, ams or any other high end manifold company did?

I built my own, check out my build thread. You can buy a head flange with tapered ports. I think I ordered mine from turbo-flanges.Com
