Discussion/help for a new IX owner

Had to sell my X (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ilt-tuned.html) back in December for reasons we won't get into (no bearing on today). Just picked up a friend's '06 IX GSR SSL. I am 4th owner, car has 110k miles. My friend spent ALOT of time and money upgrading and rebuilding things that an older car needs and got her properly tuned (still some kinks I need to have addressed). Before I write a book I'll write out the mod list and get to the point:

Engine bay/power:
-Buschur FMIC/piping
-FIC 1000 injectors
-Wahlbro 255
-Rebuilt JB FP Black
-Buschur 4" intake w/ Perrin filter
-TiAL 50mm BOV
-Front motor mount upgraded
-Head gasket/headstud upgraded
-Custom catch can setup, battery reroute to trunk
-GSC S2 cams and ported head
-Toxic Fab custom exhaust manifold
-Buschur VBand custom DP into HKS catback

Transmission:
-Sheptrans trans/tcase, all synchros replaced two weeks ago too
-Can't' remember what clutch but it's quite nice, even for my bum knees.
-short throw shifter

Suspension:
-Swift Sport springs
-NRG Bushings kit

Interior/Misc
-AEM gauges in custom dash pod
-Full brake system refresh
-FULL fluid change within the last year

So there's that. She made just over 460/380 DJ last August on 93oct. The power feels amazing, especially since I've been without boost and because she is so much ligher than my X but I know I will want more torque and I want to keep that engine happy, so I'm planning a mild engine build and upgrades for next spring...I want 600. The reason I'm ASKING is because I've gotten conflicting opinions about what I need to achieve it. Obviously I will need pistons and rods. No question. Will the FIC 1000s get me close? Meth injection? Fuel pump upgrade (I'm eyeing a NIB Buschur double pumper that another friend has)? Intake manifold (still stock/unported for now). I know the Black will get me where I want, changing the turbo isn't an option.

Sorry if it was a lot. Glad to be back in an Evo.

Also unrelated, having some issues with my avatar, what do you see as my avatar now?

Do you have e85 in your area? IMO, I'd convert to e85 before going 93 oct + meth.

you don't NEED pistons and rods? I have seen stock blocks make 600. But I could if understand you would like to do them for the extra insurance and reliability.

Read through this thread to find what injectors will work for you? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-can-help.html

If you are staying with pump gas (93 oct), I would think some 1450s-1650s would be ideal. A double pumper would help...you MIGHT be able to reach your goal of 600 on a single walbro 450.

As far as the intake manifold, I have seen ported stokers get into the 900whp range.

E85 isn't available nearby (1hr drive)

Pistons and Rods for safety and more torque, but I get what you're saying so thanks.

The double pumper is a steal, no chance a single wally will be cheaper than the double I'm getting.

I'll check that thread out, getting mixed opinions on injectors. :/

What about NON ported stock intake mani? Throttle body?

I'm in the same boat for e85. There are a couple options around it, if they appeal to you.
Go to a local racetrack, pick up 3-4 55 gal drums. Borrow a friends truck or rent a uhaul for the day (30 bucks) fill them up, buy a cheap pump from harbor freight for maybe 50 bucks.
And wahlah!, 220 gallons of e85 at your disposal. Fill up a couple times a year. For long driving trips get some regular gas cans and throw them in the trunk (preferably gutted trunk )

You missed the part were E85 is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture. It doesn't have a shelf life of that long. The more moisture it absorbs the lower the ethanol content. So your "E85" could in fact be E70, E60, or even lower in time. This will drastically effect your car as it will be running on a lower octane fuel than what it was tuned for.

it only absorbs moisture if its not in a sealed air tight container. I have a 55 gallon drum of e98 and a 55 gallon drum of e80. I've had the e98 drum for like 6 months and its still testing 98%. Both drums stay sealed until I need some e. Then resealed once I get out what I need.
