Can someone please elaborate on why you need to take the intake silent shaft out and what does this silent shaft do? Thank you. Please click here to see what I am talking about.

 

Balance shaft I believe.

 

its there to decrease vibration at idle and things of that sort if it is a balance shaft. there really is no danger of running without one since i've had them out on my car for over 15k and its fine , and got me 8whp for 90 bucks .... best hp/$ mod i got. on an evo it would probably gain much more than that..

 

I believe there is more to it than that.

 

there might be a little more but seriously its just balanceing out the motion of the engine to decrease vibration. since 4clys are hard. on my car it needed an extra quart of oil after the shaft was removed.

 

balance shafts are usually one of the first/best things to remove when modifiying in the 4G63s. wasted horsepower and potential bearing shredders that clog other things down the line.. and then quickly cause un lubed/cooled compents to fall apart..
