Someone chime in on my transfer case

So about 2 weeks ago I found my transfer case is leaking. Searched on here and found out that maybe one of the seals that goes between the transmission and transfer case went bad. Took everything apart and separated the transfer case from the transmission but when taking a closer look at the transfer case this is what I saw. Right before the big o-ring that goes in between the transfer case and transmission there are these nics and scratches. I felt around the whole circle(Don't know the proper term) and you could feel in other places that it wasn't smooth. These aren't deep or large, as a matter of fact, they are small scratches just on the surface as you can see. Was wondering if anyone else has seen this. After looking online for similar examples I found a couple that had something similar and those ones were for sale. Feels like I am over reacting but its always good to have an opinion of an another person, so what do you guys think ?

As long as the grove for the o-ring is undamaged it should be good.
