Question Need Help! - Flywheel to clutch question

So a while back I took my evo8 to a shop that I now would describe as a total hack. But that's aside from the point. They gave my car back to me in about 1 million pieces. No exaggeration .. the motor was completely torn down and put into rubbermaid containers.

I'm now trying to attach my clutch to the motor before installing the new motor. My question is regarding the flywheel. There seems to be a ring on the surface of the flywheel that has the 6 protruding points to which you bolt the clutch cover. Unfortunately, this ring is separate from the flywheel. I have searched for hours on the web, and cannot find any photo of this ring being separate, so something went wrong along the way.

How do I reattach this ring to the flywheel so I can continue with this installation? Someone please help. I have attached photos of the ring .. I like it should be bolted via the back of the flywheel before the flywheel is bolted to the crank. Advice please!
