Clutch Alignment Tool
Hey everyone after pulling my motor and transmission I decided to check my clutch disk to see how much life was left. Well after pulling it off I then realized i do not have an alignment tool. I read on the forums some people used a "FORD 20" one. I got one from a friend who just ordered a new Clutch from Comp after getting it i realized that the diameter of his tool is smaller than that of a evo clutch, but does fit inside the crank. Since everyone uses this FORD 20 one did you just eye ball it to center with tool?
Any help is great trying to finish car soon Thanks!

I bought one at Oreillys, I don't remember what it said on the package (didn't say mitsubishi, might have said ford) but I just found the one that looked like the correct splines and it worked fine. They only had three of them Does the one you buy not fit into the splines at all?
I feel like eyeballing it without the alignment tool would be very difficult. You should be able to find the right one.

I don't think the one I bought said "Ford 20" on it because I remember looking for it. Like I said just stop at an auto parts place and I'm geussing they'll have it, it's where I got mine. Even bring in a clutch plate to test if you want.
At first I just used a close-fitting socket to line the plates up which got the input shaft to slide in correctly but the trans as a whole was off alignment slightly so I couldn't bolt it up at all or get the dowel pins in. Got the alignment tool and it was super easy.
