Question Modding Questions

1. Is there a flash out there that raises the boost without MBC or do they all just minimize the tapering of the boost at high RPMs?

2. Will having a BR DP and BR High Flow Cat + B&B Cat Back work? Or does it really matter?

3. BR475 Turbo Kit??? It sounds like a bang for the buck upgrade. Why aren't a lot of people jumping all over it. From my understanding, the kit comes with everything you need and works with stock internals. Or are there a few things that needs to be changed?

I believe Works and Vishnu have flashes that can control the factory boost solenoid. I believe you need to take out the brass restrictor pill or replace the lines to the turbo or wastegate actuator with the ones they supply.

Most exhausts (As long as they don't have reducers like many of the JDM pieces) are 3" piping. They all basically do the same thing. They just use different mufflers for different tones.

Bigger turbos are fun but there are other things to consider: Bigger fuel pump, injectors, what to use for engine management. I'm sure you'll see quite a few big-turbo Evos running around in the coming months.

Probably the largest reason everyone isn't jumping on our turbo upgrade is we are still waiting on the manifolds to come back from the CNC shop. After they get here they will start getting shipped. We have orders for them here and cars here waiting for kits.

You're asking many of the questions I've asked recently. I dont think that any of the flashes raise the boost level much but they can certainly affect it. I dont really think you can go wrong with dynoflash, xede/xflash, Works P1/P2 flash. I chose the works product in part because it holds peak boost through redline. My understanding is that xflash and dynoflash still taper boost. Vishnu has great peak hp numbers, I liked the area under the curve with the P2 better.

As far as exhausts go, I'm not sure you can go too wrong either. Lots of good choices. Buschur is tempting in that its probably the lightest and straightest and is reasonably priced. I'm planning on going with the Works turboback eventually. (Works has a great reputation, they are close to where I live, and I want to stick with one comany). The most important thing is to get rid of the obese and restrictive stock muffler

turbo upgrades - I dont know how much the kit that you are referring to is, but I'd say that many of these kits are not cheap, and as such may be prohibitive...
