You're right, a stripped down race engine with no PS, no AC, electric water pump, running on the ragged edge can only just do it. Good job cherry picking the one specialized setup that managed to do it in an "attempt" to prove me "wrong". An atypical setup like that does not belong in this discussion as I'm sure the OP still has all of the OEM accessories on his motor.

I'm willing to bet Aaron wouldn't even tune a client's car like that if he was asked. If you talk to him, he doesn't even recommend compression above 9:1 unless you're building a race only car, that will only see ethanol, and you're willing to deal with head gasket issues.

But, good job.

Dude, I don't know why you're getting so butthurt about this. I merely brought up an example of a 9 turbo that produced over 500whp done by a reputable tuner.

Can a 9 turbo flow enough to produce over 500whp = Yes, in an extreme case with proper tuning and engine building

I completely agree with you that the OP is most likely not making 500whp, I disagreed with your statement about 9 turbo flow potential. Upon disagreeing, I showed you an example, not in an attempt to make you seem like a fool, but to try and share knowledge to high end build that achieved what you thought impossible.

I'm not here to make people out to appear unintelligent, I'm here to learn myself and share any knowledge I have.

Imo, the best stock frame 450-500whp turbo for Evo 4-9 is the Ross Sport HPB-IX

The guys across the pond take Evo turbos pretty serious and this latest creation looks like a serious performer. Remember those dyno charts are on a 2.0 Evo 8 with mild cams. They are not trying to "pad" their results with a stroker motor or mivec.

Not only is it an extreme case, it's not an acceptable one. I just spoke with Aaron about it, "yes the turbo did it, but it sounded like it was grinding a brick, and we would never do that with a client car." "It was the most unreliable 500whp we have ever done."

Meth injection pre and post turbo, 41psi, and the turbine housing welded on the outside so they could hog it out more on the inside. It was also ported into being a single scroll housing. Just doesn't really count...

Its great fun that they got it to do it, but its such an outlier case of unreliability and **** that people never do its just not applicable.

That's for sure an FP compressor wheel. Idk about the turbine. But Owen works closely with FP. I wish they would say what size HTA wheel it has.

It is a 61lbs/m compressor wheel, so it's an fp red hta wheel.

I also had very similar power level output with better boost threshold/spool/full boost rpm point with fp red mhi and hks 272 cams.

The Rossport turbo is solid.
