ACT hands down. Running the HDSS on my IX and I love it. No issues at 450whp/400wtq and a ton of track days on it

I'm surprised by all the flak for the comp clutch. A year ago when I started looking at clutches everybody and their mothers were talking about how awesome the clutch was. But anywho I had a 6 puck sprung act clutch which lasted about 60k miles. Wore it down to the rivets and throw out bearing gave. Was good but sometimes a pain when going from a stop up a hill. I now have the act hdss. Easier to drive and hopefully gets the same or more miles than the previous one I had.

I have the Comp Stage 2 pressure plate and the ACT 6 puck sprung and it is definitely a off / on clutch not much room for slipping it. I am not tuned on my new set up yet so I will see how well it holds up soon.

Well, my comp stage 2 after 4 years and under 20K miles now slips in 4th and 5th at wot. Clutch drives fine in lower gears and higher gears when babying it. Guess I'm a little disappointed by the mileage I got out of the clutch, probably gonna go act hdss this time around.

I run the comp stage 2, un-sprung solid disk and love it. It did smell a little here and there through the break in miles but it drives way better than my ACT HDSS did. I'm at 450wtq. Also shifts great, just had to adjust it a little after break in and its perfect

At with the ACT HDSS 450+ tq, wouldn't touch a comp2 unless I lived close enough to ER for them to back it.

Have had an ACT HDSS in the car for like 70k, has always had high rpm lockout issues. Going with comp this time around, thought about a twin but from what I've seen and read around you never get the mileage out of them before they need a rebuild/replace.

The next clutch is likely to be the last I ever put in the car so I'll go with something I never have to pull again.

I've got a buddy running the same clutch, almost 60K miles and no problems. I don't believe he has launched the car though, just rolling pulls. Granted, I've only launch mine maybe 8 times total over 4 years time. I'm leaning towards the ACT, but I'm gonna do my research for a while before pulling the trigger.

I never had a lockout issue with my Comp, so that is something they did right. I did however have the burning issue when even on a slight incline, many people do. It feels like its slipping and just burns slightly. Also, I got less than 20K miles on it, so theres that... Hit or miss it sounds like with the ACT HDSS, seems like there is no "perfect" single disc for our cars.

Did it have the monoloc? Thought that fixes high rpm lockout.

The Mono-lock wasn't even a concept when the HDSS originally went in the car.
