Piston with offset pin from Ross for EVO

Hey guys learning more and more about internals for my project build up. This weekend when I was at Turbotrixs (Awesome shop) Mark should me the Ross piston with an offset in the pin. My understanding is that it makes a forged piston quieter at start up because it almost completely eliminates the cold piston slap. Looks really neat and they come in a 9:1 compression ratio.

Now my understanding is that there are no disadvantages with the off set pin. Please give your thoughts on it.

Thanks for reading.

Eric

Since you're doing a complete buildup, why not go stroker?

Well I want to be in factory spec. I don't want to machine my block to fit the stroker kit and lose reaibilty. I not looking to have a drag car but a ***** to the wall street machine. Plus reading from around most tuners would not advise to stroke.

Those Ross pistons are nice, although I thought the compression was a bit lower than 9:1. I'm probably going to be going with them myself with some other upgraded internal goodies.

The Ross's are still a bit noisy on cold startup - not as bad as some others, but I have found it alrgely depends on the oil you run, which largely depends on:

1. your engien builder's preference (pick your poison type deal)
2. the tolerances the engine was assembled to.

The stroker option is nice, but not terribly cost effective on the 4G63's IMHO, and the difference in power is marginal.
