I have a Exedy Triple in my Evo 8 and the engagement from a stop is always inconsistent. Sometimes it's really easy and smooth and other times it grabs right away and I almost (and sometimes do) stall. Is this just a characteristic of a triple? I had a twin and it didn't act like this. I feel like I am having to learn to drive a manual all over again..

Thoughts? Experiences?

 

Any idea if its your clutch slave cylinder crapping out? engagement should be relatively the same over the life of the clutch so a faulty slave cylinder may be the culprit.

I have a Twin disk so I'm not super familiar with triples but from what I've read it may be the slave.

 

I used to run the triple and it didn't engage like this.. It's a brand new Shep transmission and brand new slave. I am guessing it's a characteristic of a triple clutch.

 

My Exedy Triple has always been consistent with engagement.

 

It's pretty consistent with my Exedy Triple Plate, it does grind and whine occasionally though. That said, I occasionally feel that it just an issue with how much I step on the gas...
