BS Belt wiped out my Timing...
So I was doing a bit of tuning and Virtual Road Dyno Testing, about 7k into a pull, lots of bad noises that sounded like money flying out of my *** and possible suicide happen. Got it home, havent opened it up but so far I know one intake valve is toast. More pics to come when the head comes off. I hear Balance Shaft belts taking out timing belts is a fairly common occurrence. All the timing components were changed 2 years/10k miles ago. 123k miles on this engine, its never had the head off until now.

Damn that looks bad. So far with just looking under the valve cover, only one rocker popped off, I would assume both valves for that cylinder will be bent though. I know the retainer has a little scratch in it from the rocker, didn't look at the cam lobes too closely yet

Did a little work on the car tonight. All Ive found out so far is that it looks like the BS belt just broke and made it jump time. I had some loose bolts but not on anything timing related. And it also broke my crank sensor. The engine still turns over easy but it also has no compression at all so Im thinking all the valves are bent.
No help to you but I went under the timing cover after 30K on a belt change and the balance shaft belt was loose. It was tensioned properly when installed and nothing was loose so the belt grew. I retensioned it and suggest others do the same or at least check.

Well havent had a whole lot of time to work on the car lately, work, 2 kids and a house have kept me busy. Finally got the head off, and as I expected, bent valves. Looks like only 12 of them, but I feel like if Im doing 12 I might as well get the other 4. New valves are $25-$30 each from STM, Im thinking of either getting a set of DSM or used Evo valves to put in. Piston damage looks minimal, still will have to clean up the burrs off the valve reliefs to prevent hot spots though.
Taking the head to the machine shop this week to get checked and what not, then start ordering parts

Evo valves are different from DSM ones. EVO valves are lighter and sodium filled. Size wise, they are the same though. But the EVO valve springs are designed to work with the lighter EVO valves.
