Interchange for evo 8 block?

Is there an interchange for an evo 8 block? Mines cracked and I need a new one as cheap as I can get. Thanks for the help.

4G64 blocks are cheap but building one won't save you much

But my question is can I use any 4g63t block? Like from a eclipse or is it evo specific? I just plan on stock build. I can make enough power from that to make me happy.

no you cant use the early evo or eclipse 4g63 blocks. they are very different externally. you need a evo 4-evo 8 block or as mentioned a late model 2.4 block can be had cheaper. there is a huge list of cars that used the 2.4. but you need to do your homework. there are some changes that need to be made to use the 2.4 block.

a. 6mm taller. so shrouds dont fit.
b. water pump is different. use one from 2003 outlander with 2.4
c. timing changes at gears timing belt shortens
d. no oil squirters
etc.

I guess al just drop the money on a evo 8 block so everything is right. I don't wanna do a swap with 50 parts.
