FP vband o2 housing fitment

I'm looking at purchasing one of the newer style FP turbos with the vband outlet.

I already have a Perrin 3" downpipe, so I don't want to purchase a new one.
Anyone using the new FP outlet with a Perrin down pipe?

Other downpipe fitment input is appreciated too.

I'm mainly concerned with fitment and I do not want to part with my A/c.

Seems like not many are doing the new v band housing ?

From a quick search it appears a hand full of people have issues with the STM recirculated down pipe touching the radiator.

What's a comparable stock from turbo to the FP red or black ?

I went with the ATP stock frame gtx3582r.

The one I installed fit fine, just need to remove some unneeded material from the AC bracket for it to fit. 4" angle grinder with a flapper disk made quick work of that. I did have to cut the flange off the clients existing DP (buschur, so it didn't even have the stock style done gasket flange) and use the flange that FP provides. Also, thankfully he wanted a hood dump, because I'm not sure how the dump tube they supply would have worked running out the bottom of the car.

Ya I'm trying to stay low key and keep the waste dump in the exhaust. The stm downpipe sounded good until I read about the fitment.

My plan b will be to buy a used Evo 9 turbo and just send that out to FP, I'd really like to keep my 9 turbo and have downtime be minimal

If you go the used to turbo route, make sure the volute in the exhaust housing isn't cracked.

I just ordered a used FP black , obviously looked good in pics but I'll see when I get it.

Might even pay the $100 to have FP check it.

Are the cracks always obvious to see ?

You have to remove the turbine housing. It's not a big deal if the turbo is already built. It's an issue when you send a core turbo to FP for them to upgrade, they machine a housing that is already cracked. In your case, you're getting a housing that is already machined, so it doesn't really matter.

This is where the crack forms:

Just pulled my turbo in hopes of sending it in and low and behold... it has that crack. I heard FP have been a bit more lenient in accepting turbos with these cracks...? I wonder if that's true, because I'm not sure if I want to play with all the figment issues of the SS housing and related parts
