ETS intake problem evo 8

hey guys i recently installed my ETS intake kit on my evo 8... wondering if anyone else with this intake had this issue. with the MAF adapter they give you they give you a flat gasket. with just this gasket there is a big gap between the adapter and maf even when tightened. so i tried using the stock gasket and there is still a gap between adapter and MAF??? i had to use both gaskets just to get this thing to seal. has anyone had this issue and found a solution? thanks

i did contact ets with pics and they haven't gotten back. i just don't understand. the MAF isn't flat so why do they give you a flat gasket?? and the OEM one doesn't seal the adapter either so what are you supposed to do?

I don't think that would cause any issues.
If it was behind maf it would be unmetered air.
I might be wrong but you should be ok.

well if your talking about using both gaskets i am kind of thinking the same... i mean i don't think air would get through those two gaskets since there really isn't much vacuum on them since the filter is right there... just would be nice to be told that for sure. but if you wouldn't want a gap there because its after the filter so yeah it wouldn't be unmetered but it also wouldn't be going through the filter

Hey Brian,

You will want to use the factory gasket under the flat gasket to give it a solid mating surface. Installed like this won't give you any issues.
