Milltek exhaust system

I installed a Milltek turbo back system on my 06 IX MR and this is one great system! The quality is Mil.spec..the workmanship is first rate. Simple to install..took about 20 min. It gave me 20 hp more on the dyno. And the best is how it sounds, like no other Evo. I think this is the only one in the USA at this point, and if you want one let me know. This not an inexpensive exhaust BUT it is well worth it and does carry a lifetime warranty.

First post in 2004. 2nd post in early 2006. I wonder which one Peter Tiebout was talking to with his first post.

Milltek exhaust system

I was talking to anybody who wants to know about the Milltek line of products. When a product delivers what is advertised...and then some, I thought others may want to get one. There are alot of systems out there,so when one really works...pass along the info so others can have a great product...Remember..they do all kinds of cars. And the car went thru Pa emissions with 0 problems!

My Evo is only slightly pumped over stock...The only changes are a drop in K&N filter and the Milltek turbo back, and a VERY small tweak in the ECU done by CBRD Speedfactory in York Pa. It started with 240 whp on the Mustang dyno(bone stock) and ended with 270 whp. This is a work in progress..the car only has 6k on it so I am slowly adding the fun factor. But when you get stopped by the Police and all he wants to know is why your car sounds so good you must be doing SOMETHING right!

Unofrtunately, Peter, those are VERY poor gains for a TBE w/tune on a IX, so it's not a very good recommendation. If you're saying the "tweak" in the ECU was not a tune, then maybe the gains are ok, but I don't know why they would go in and "tweak" something without tossing in at least a base tune. Anyway, you said you gained 20hp on the dyno in your first post, didn't you? It may sound good (not doubting that), but if it's quiet, then it's likely not the most powerful, which would then make it not worth the high cost.

FYI, the dyno doesn't read BHP, it reads WHP.

warrtalon,

he was not claiming it was massive gains..

the milltek has a functional cat, which doesnt throw codes, unlike most of the others out there, where we've needed to add o2 extenders even with a cat...

Peter's car is for autocross, and boost adjustments havent been made

the car gained 30whp, 35wtq from a turboback, with cat, resonator, etc... on stock boost level...

Overall, i really like the milltek and have used them on the vw audi cars....

cheers

So you're coming to play in STU now Pete? No more AS with a turbo back and reflash. Might as well get the full on STU flash now and get that extra 10-15whp.

Stock tires aren't bad Peter. It doesn't matter, just keep coming and you'll get better with some more time behind the wheel.

You are correct, these guys are tough.

Are you going to sign up for a WDCR event this year? You gotta come down for the experience and to get prepped for the higher speed stuff you'll see at the PA State Championships.

Dave, I am considering the HPDE at pocono on the 15th&16th of this month..as road racing is my background..but I am very interested to learn more about auto X since I have only ran 6 events..and it is VERY different than road racing.and I suck at it so far..but if I don't get lost out there I have gotton a few 2nd places. It is way safer for the car to auto X and that is good..but it is VERY hard to practice driving a course..when there are none! After driving a few road courses you can get to know whats coming up...hey, but thats whats fun about the AX..you don't know sh... until you get out there! Pete
