Has anyone here ran a ACD transfercase in a non-acd car and just plugged the ACD lines? Would the case just act like a car with an open diff?

I have an 03 non acd evo and I can only seem to find ACD t-cases at a decent price.

 

No. There is an ACD Pump and ACD ECU . Not to mention electrical wiring, harness etc...

You can easily convert a ACD Evo to a Non ACD but not the other way around.

 

I think theoretically what your thinking would work. Without the pump/control systems working it would basically act like an open diff. I don't know if there are other bad things that might happen running it this way in the long term but im sure you could give one of the evo drive train specialists a call and pick their brain about it. Obviously you would lose the advantages of the ACD system, being able to send torque to the axle with the most traction, but having a USDM 03 Evo 8 you never had those features anyway.
