Evo 9 turbo

Hello I have a 2004 evo 8 I'm in the market for a new turbo and was curious if it's worth going with a evo 9 turbo current things done are tomei exhaust manifold with heat shield, tomei bov, tomei cam gears, injen intercooler piping, muffler delete with 3" exhaust, has cams but not sure what they are, spark tech coil on plug. Stock injectors. The car will need tuned once I get a new turbo that's why I figure I'd just got with evo 9 turbo. Will my stock injectors be enought for a evo 9 turbo.

Id def recommend the 9 turbo as a budget turbo, Ive dont an 8 with stock injectors and 9 turbo and maxed them out, made 314/320. I would get bigger injectors and you for sure need a bigger pump. If you have the cash and dont mind waiting id send it in and get it built. I sent in my 9 turbo and got a 20G upgrade. Made 430! Lmk if you have any questions

your stock injectors will be fine, and if your not looking to make huge gains then yeah by all means get the 9 turbo, but your going to need to get an evo 9 j pipe and lines since the 8s are different lengths.

Might do this In the near future also. Is that all that's needed to convert over to a 9?

You don't need the tomei exhaust manifold, and cam gears. The stock exhaust manifold can do the job. The stock injectors are going to limit you power wise.

I would recommend getting ID 1000s and an AFR gauge. On 91 you could make 360. 400+ on E85.
