why gen 1 over gen 2. I have been reading up on them and seems to be a lot of good new tech included in the gen 2. Faster spool up and 20-30% greater power. Is there some issue pertaining that I have failed to see?

The gen 2 is currently not an option as a stock frame replacement.

yes you right FP turbos have very good reputation. I was just thinking to try something else.
I thought blouch was making central cartridge for MAP EF/Dominator XTR turbos, but i may be wrong. Im not a turbo guru

You are misinformed. MAP made their own turbos. Blouch made the CBRD BBK line of turbos.

CBRD BBK Full = Blouch Dominator 1.0XT/1.0XTR
CBRD BBK-B = Blouch Dominator 2.0XTR
CBRD BBK-C = Blouch Dominator 3.0XTR

Hope this helped

I was doing some research on my own for some time already and came to conclusion between these 4 stock frame turbo setups atp gtx 3071/3576 or map ef2/3. Both options are bb and flow around the same. The car will be running on 93 maybe in future i will switch to e85 but currently where im located my access is limited. I'm also on stock internals currently, but planing to build the motor. My goal is 430whp on pump, but also capable of 500 when i build the motor. Im looking to get turbo that can make 500 on e85 without pushing it to its limits.
I dd may car for now but im trying to build it for track, no drag. So quick spool must, and good response.
I'm writing this post of hopes you guys could help me to decide.
Thank you
For the record, MAP's EF turbos are journal bearing.

I am happy with my atp gtx3582r. I don't find its as laggy as people have said they would be. My buddy has the same turbo and his car has more lag but that is due to the combination of parts he has so I think it all depends on your particular setup and tune.

I am at the same dilemma. I have an evo 8 (long rod 2.0, 9.3:1, m2 cossworth).

I was thinking for gtx3071r bb stock location turbo. Another option is an evo 9 turbo built by turbos-r-us. They claim to make it equal to fp red (mhi) and they use ss housing but divided so is not that laggy. FP jb is also an option but I hear of bad spoolup and have some of my friends with failures in their products over the years.

These are my main options but keep changing my mind among them. The thing that troubles me is why people say that atp stock location is not that good when there is not enough evidence. No dynocharts or drag slips.

I would appreciate any info regarding my 3 options

Just checked the atp website. Looks like the Gen2 stock location turbos will be available mid-summer. The timing is great since I just installed my gen1 (insert sarcasm).
