Yeah that's not how it works. I take it you don't understand E85?!?!

I do. But that's why I was asking this question. So the power gains with e85 are greater than they would be if you heave equal amount of 93. Thanks that's all I wanted to know.

i dont understand the question.

if you just up the fuel 30% more on 93... you are just way rich and the car will run very poorly or not at all.

That's not how it works. Where E85 makes more power is it's knock resistance. You can run more timing and boost.
Due to it's composition, it takes 30% more fuel to burn correctly. It's not the extra fuel that makes the power.
You will make a lot more power, but have worse MPG.

Equal flow of pump gas and e85 (I.E. maxing out 1000cc injectors on each), the pump gas will make more power. But that's not that point in it's use.
The point is that you can make a ton of power once you add enough.

I'll make it more simple.

93 = 93 octane
E85 = 105 octane

E85 makes more power due to higher octane rating. Even if you pumped 30% more 93 at a given time it would still only be 93

[QUOTE=Ckeesee12;11740679]Slowly but surely finishing my 2.4 build in my 8. Turbo tuff rods and Wiseco pistons. 9.0:1 cr. Will be a bb 6262 turbo setup. Stock head with upgraded springs and 272s. Wally 450 and 1200cc injectors. Stock computer. All the other basic bolt ons.
My real question is should I run it on 93 or e85. Ethanol is more than everywhere around me, pretty much every station has it and it's all within 2-4% of each other.
What will bring me more power? We all know ethanol requires more fuel, but gives better power and vice versa for 93. I plan on running injectors between 87% and 93% duty.[/QUOTE

e85 would make more power. But you also have to think about if you every go anywhere else and have to be searching for e85 gas stations. That's the only reason I haven't yet is because mine is still a daily. And I don't want to put myself in a bad position

Plus, "e85 is cheaper". Not necessarily. Where I live it's only 20% cheaper than pump gas, but you use 30% more, so it actually costs more to run the car on it.
Then there is the goo situation, which you can't control or know about until it's too late..., so will want a dual map tune so you can run pump gas through, occasionally.

You can just switch back and forth between the two fuels, you don't have to commit to one or the other. The Stock ECU can hold two tunes one for gas one for E85.

I'm visiting Killeen, TX and it shocked me to see the price of e85 at a local gas station. E85 or 93?-photo293.jpg

That's awesome. It's a LOT more expensive where I'm at.
