Slowly but surely finishing my 2.4 build in my 8. Turbo tuff rods and Wiseco pistons. 9.0:1 cr. Will be a bb 6262 turbo setup. Stock head with upgraded springs and 272s. Wally 450 and 1200cc injectors. Stock computer. All the other basic bolt ons.
My real question is should I run it on 93 or e85. Ethanol is more than everywhere around me, pretty much every station has it and it's all within 2-4% of each other.
What will bring me more power? We all know ethanol requires more fuel, but gives better power and vice versa for 93. I plan on running injectors between 87% and 93% duty.

 

Sell the 1200's, get some 2150's, tune for E85. You'll make a ton more power. Will need a bigger fuel pump too. E85 is definitely well worth it.

 

This I know, just not what I'm interested in. Would like to see as close to 600 as possible.

 

I can tell you which fuel is less likely to blow up your motor at 600hp.

Get a switch, tune for both.

Yes. A good tuner can do it. Does require a little bit of soldering

 

Or just use tephra mod and call it a day

 

There is no material in this world which will prevent a motor from blowing from excessive cylinder pressures from knock.

 

if your fuel system is good for E85... then there is zero reason not to use it...
its like race gas for less than 2 bucks a gallon.

 

E85 will make more power than 93 in every.single.case.

 

you can even run flexfuel on stock ecu with proper mods..

 

Best investment I've made for the EVO yet.

 

Because e85 takes 30% more fuel, I was more wondering if there is a point where if I have the car that additional 30% on a 93 tune, if it would make more power.
