Hey Everyone!

Heres yet another problem with my evo..... So, theres this really loud noise, kinda like metal clanking.... The noise seems to be coming from the turbo or in the turbo area. Is the shaft play, a bad turbo or something else?

It doesn't sound like a noise a turbo would make. Maybe a little lifter noise.

 

​​​​​​​I was also thinking it could be lifter tick, but in person it doesn't sound like it... Its weird....

Mad turbos usually sound like a kazoo. Easiest way to tell if it's the turbo though, is to stay by the engine and have some one else shut the engine. The turbo will spin for a few to several seconds after the engine is stopped, so you'll be able to tell if that's the noise.

Easiest way to tell is pull off the intake and check shaft play, only takes a few minutes
