My Evo was a 500-650hp daily for 2+ years and put on over 30k miles in that time including traffic with an exedy triple. It was the mixture of two different triples. One that came in car and eventually replaced it but it had very nice engagement in traffic situations. Doesn't give a leg workout either like some others. Only downfall is the noise.

Any clutch you throw on to handle the power you car is capable of will probably not be "street" friendly, especially to someone that hasn't driven many built manual cars. All aftermarket clutches designed to handle torque will take some getting used to. Either switch to an Exedy or try just driving it more and getting used to the QM.

Quote: For the most part I like my exedy triple(making 560ish hp). I don't DD it, but I think I could with this clutch.
It has an on/off type engagement which can make it a PITA if you hit traffic, also a bit noisy but nothing unbearable. Also gotta watchout for uneven wear with the 1st disc if the car is gonna see alot of stop and go.

that first gear bark is wonderful in Daily traffic what r u talking about lol jk

I'm running the Exedy Twin.. About 560WHP. The only issue I notice is that unless you're careful, getting moving from first gear has a hint of judder (almost imperceptible), but can eliminate it with practice. After that all gears are super smooth as long as your tune is good.

For example... When my base tune was done, we ran out of time. So power was good, but idle was not perfect. I had to really take it easy between shifts. At first I thought it was my Exedy Twin (since so many people say they are not street friendly). Then I got my tune completed where idle was fixed. Suddenly all shifts are like butter. I think it has to do with the combination of lighter flywheel that comes with the Exedy Twin, and the tune dropping idle too quickly between shifts (on lift off).

I think this might be why we see so much variability in experience. I think those with misbehaving twins/triples may not have perfectly tuned maps and/or slightly misadjusted clutches. Twins and other multiplates have a much smaller margin for tune/adjustment error.

Thanks!

Im still having that judder after i installed my ATS twin few months ago. But right before that, i had changed from t3 gt37 to stock location turbo setup and tune accordingly. Car had also stall during low rpm shfits and the idle was pretty low. Before i could send back for touchup tune, my turbo (fp black) failed. Now on stock evo 8 turbo without tune but less juddering.

4k miles on my sprung Comp stage 4 clutch. Zero complaints, pedal isn't too stiff and is very easy to modulate, it's very grabby but you'll get that with any puck style or multiplate clutch.

Also is much more affordable compared to multiplate stuff. I've probably got about 25-30 hard launches on it so far and haven't had any issues slipping or overheating. I'm only at 400whp/400wtq but I believe it's rated to 500 or 550wtq.

any noise in this setup?

Quote: I had a act hdss but it burnt and i went with a hdss pressure plate and a ceramic 6puck sprung disk.

Im just now getting used to the bite it has. But let me say. It launches great and it eliminated all my high rpm lockout issues.

It is uncomfortable but i daily the bish.

Reason i ditched the hdss is because i was told the material overheats and warps the pressure plate causing shifting issues. So i went ceramic
