Smile Suggestion Turbo (Noob) | 05’ evo 8

Hello my fellow evo friends
I’m a newbie on here, be easy on me.
That being said, I been wanting to upgrade my evo 8 stock turbo and I don’t know what upgrade turbo I should get for my evo.
My evo mods are
- Megan Racing DP
- ETS Standard Tank Intercooler
- 3-Port Grimmspeed Boost Control
- Megan Racing 3” Exhaust
- Invidia Test Pipe
- Boost Gauge
- Injen Pipes
- Injen 4” Air Intake

STOCK BLOCK , STOCK CAMS, STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLD, STOCK EVO 8 TURBO.

Parts I have not installed
- 255 Walbro fuel pump
- 1000cc Injector Dynamics
- External Wastegate With Tial BOV

What’s the best turbo to make 400-450whp
Want to keep it mainly bolt ons , and be my daily as well.
I am trying to keep it simple.
Thank You For the help in advance ! :-)

From what I have read/seen, you can get close to, or exceed 400 whp on just an 71hta and pump, which is a bargin.

E would get you closer to 450.

You guys are lucky to have 93 octane. 26 psi and hitting 400whp is nice. That SS housing really slows spool quite a bit from the MHI. It looks like 4600 rpm before you see 300ft-lbs of torque.

Yes, but Green MHI should be seeing 300 ft-lb around 4200 rpm. This is my 71hta for reference. This SS Green looks laggier than MHI Red even.

It's hard to compare different turbos and setups. Plus he said "external wastegate", so I assume it's a SS housing which = about as laggy as MHI Red. Plus, we don't know certain details of the rest of his build. Sounds about right to me.

Correct. The SS Green looks laggier than MHI Red. I'm thinking OP has a boost leak somewhere.
Oh wait, no mivec here. Is this normal lag then?
