450-500hp stock longblock safe turbo
450-500hp stock longblock safe turbo
I’m ready to once again make more power but not sure what’s best for me. I would like something that can perform at the strip( light) and on the street. I love the response of my stock turbo and want something not to laggy. I was going to purchase the ets 5858 kit but not sure if I want to spend that much money if there’s something cheaper that can achieve same results.
more than fine 564/506 here on one hits hard and fast , my last car was a 6466 now this one came with a red and the lag difference its crazy haha this one is instant, but for my goals I want to go 6466 so ill be selling my red set up so I can go 700+ hp

If you want a fun street car that spools up near stock and has part throttle boost then I would recommend a FP RED MHI. It will easily hit the 400 tq limit of the stock block around 3800-4200 if you want it to and carry the torque out better then a green. You can easily make 500whp/600whp with the right fueling and tuning.
If you can't send a good MHI core to FP to build then a SS green would be the next choice. If you want to spend less you could also do a HTA 71 but it may fall a bit short of 500 and have a smaller powerband.
If you want more top end then a PTE 5858 will also work well with the stock block rpm limit. 8000ish
I've had the red on my stock engine and a built one and it continues to deliver . It will make 20psi by 3800-4000 and has a great powerband to 8000.
Whatever route you take, develop a check list and make sure you have the supporting mods and a good tuner. Pump gas is low boost, E85 for high boost.

Just talked to Michael from FP and he has two reds with a housing simialr to mhi. Housing is from a company in Australia called lamspeed racing. Lamspeed has had success with them and I believe he said they have sold turbos with that housing
Now I need to either find an mhi for peace of mind or just use the lamspeed one(spool is a little off from mhi housing)

Bought an htz red with less than 1k with proof. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. Will be purchasing an ebc to get rid of my mbc. Alredy have and tuned on s2s and all other common supporting mods
I have an ss red. Its a bad *** setup. The lag is greater then any twinscroll fp set up but its not like a t4 turbo or something giant. Brake boost and you cant tell. The thing comes alive after 20 psi or so
Nobody mentioned my BBK Full JB or BB! Lol
Spools at lightning speed untill 8000 and good power band too!
Tested and proven, time attack, autocross, quarter mile and street beast driving.
Jack of all trade!

. Won’t know how bad lag/response will be until it’s on
