Output Shaft Issue

Hey everyone. I recently acquired an Evo IV GSR as a project car. First job is a clutch change...I am following the workshop manual and some online write-ups I have seen.
So now I am at the point where drive shafts are out and I need to remove the output shaft on the transmission side. But it won't budge.
Searched some forums and have seen that sometimes it is no problem but other times it can give grief.
I have the M8 screw in the output shaft and have tried a slide hammer. Next I used a good side washer and wrapped some wire and then on a sledge hammer at he other end to get some weight behind it when I yanked.
Still no go. Any suggestions would be appreciated?
Side note - this Evo IV is a GSR which I believe does not have a front LSD...not sure if that matters.
Thanks

I always improvise a small puller.... Use a large bearing or socket or two and put around the open end of the intermediate shaft, so that it is a bit longer than the exposed shaft... Large washer on the end, put a long thread in the end of the shaft, trough the washer, and put a nut on the end... when you screw in the nut it will pull on the shaft and pull it out...
