What to do

Hello I have a 04 evo mostly stock with evo 9 turbo and a tune. Long story short spun a rod bearing and I'm having a hard decision between building my head or leaving my head stock and going with a new turbo. I'm going to be doing the maperformance stage 1 bottom end all new oil lines, oil filter housing and oil cooler. I can't afford to do both built head and new turbo all at once. So ether turbo or cams valve springs and retainers. Also does anyone know a reputable machine shop near portland Oregon. Thanks in advance

Just keep the head stock. Maybe do a diy port job. And a valve seat cut and valve seal job. Gsc beehive and oem retainers.

Concentrate on getting the best possible fit of pistons and bearings. End up with a lame engine and modifications will be worthless. Once the build has proven itself then think of upgrades.
