Need a BOV that doesn't....

need modifications to work correctly. I justy got finished reading the huge SILVER SURFER thread on this subject and to tell you the truth, I don't trust anyone in the D/FW area to do my BOV upgrade. Anyone know of a BOV that work correctly strait out of the box?

I have the same problem YEVOVIII

I'm going to go with Greddy Type S, and also another great unit is the HKS SSQV.

Both very good units, HKS more of a flutter, and Greddy more of a high pitched sound.

Good luck.

Find yourself a crushed 1g and have it welded on.

You don't need a crushed 1G BOV. An uncrushed one works just fine.

Like Evo11V said, the GReddy TypeS or the HKS SSQV will both work. Make sure you get the correct adapter flange for the EVO.

the Tomei bov is almost identical to the stocker with upgraded seals and stiffer spring that will hold 23psi according to them right out of the box.

The Greddy Type-S sounded like a bird when I removed the spring, and it stalled my car when it was normal.. I also had the same flange that goes on the 99 GST, but that shouldn't have caused a problem right?? Are there any out there that dont have any bad side effects... and having to rev your engine to keep it from stalling is a bad side effect... I too am looking for something that sounds like the Greddy Type S but doesnt stall my car.. Also would it make a difference what kind of intake pipe I had on there??? because it was a POS RMR pipe and filter...

HKS SSQV is OK. It flutters a bit at low throttle shifts and takes a little tuning. I still have yet to get this thing sounding right.

get the Greddy Type S from Road Race Engineering. They modify them for the EVO, and you don't even have to adjust the spring rate.
