I after a long while of being out of the evo scene, i recently just got back and couldn't be happier. I picked up an 05' wicked white RS with 83,000 miles and a couple issues to sort out. When you first start the car, or even just turn the ignition on, the ACD lights on the dash work when you press the ACD button. After about 5 minutes or so, you can hear a click and then all 3 lights are lit up. Another issue this car is having is when you turn the wheel hard left/ hard right it feels like a 4x4 jeep or a car with a welded diff. It has the feeling of the front tires "hopping" across the ground and makes turning very difficult as the car feels like being held back. The transfer case does have a small drip coming from it that i noticed in my garage. Would the ACD failure have anything to do with this car jumping like it has a welded diff when its cut hard left/right? Or am i looking at a damaged diff.
You can find the ACD trouble codes by jumping OBD pins 1 and 4 whenever you see the 3 lights illuminate. When you jump the pins, the lights will blink in succession slowly X number of times and the quickly Y number of times. You can determine the exact code by counting the first series of blinks (X) and the second series of blinks(Y) and using the number XY referencing the chart that I've attached.
eg - 2 slow blinks followed by 1 fast blink is code 21, a problematic front right wheel speed sensor. Then you'll have the information to diagnose your center diff issue.
Oh - it's possible there's more than one code. If there's only one it'll loop that single code, otherwise it'll spit them all out one code after another.
