Catch can question

Hey guys I'm about to install a oil catch can, everything is straightforward besides this little metal piece. I don't quite get what the point of it is if it's meant to be a connector or something. Otherwise everything should be installed like the Evomoto guide? https://www.evomoto.com/tech_article..._article_id=21

Shouldn't that hose be connected back to the catch can?

I don't believe so. This one blocks off the line to the intake.

A silicone cap on the intake where that hose connects would be a cleaner solution than that plug. It's just stopping unmetered air from entering the system.

Doesn't make sense to me. I thought the setup should look something more like this as opposed to blocking off the pipes.

I think this kit comes with the plug in case you want to vent to air. If you want to recirculate into intake pipe, put it away and hook your system up like your drawing.

Yeah don't want vent to air. I'll go with my stock setup and recirc.
